a tale of feminine redemption

Shown at Chelsea College of Arts as part of the Situations show, March 2024

Borrowing it's text from a Romanian fairy tale (translated in Marie-Louise von Franz'sThe Cat: A Tale of Feminine Redemption), this piece features an edible storybook, made of wafer paper and hand-painted with food colouring. The storybook was read and eaten in a performance at the Chelsea College of Arts, where artist and audience alike were invited to rewrite and repurpose the story from within the microbiomes of their bodies and to redistribute through the squirt of their diarrhoea, into the sewers of London.
